LUKE George is expected to be out of action for the next two weeks after suffering an ankle strain in Wakefield Wildcats’ defeat against St Helens on Sunday.

George is hoping to return for Wakefield’s home clash against Crusaders on Sunday, July 31, as is Stuart Howarth, who has returned to light training following a leg injury.

The jet-heeled winger misses out in Wakefield’s 19-man squad to make the tough trip to Super League leaders Wigan Warriors on Friday.

Matthew Blaymire (knee) and Gareth Moore (hamstring) have also been ruled out of the trip across the Pennines to the DW Stadium.

The injuries mean a return to the 19-man squad for Josh Griffin, Josh Veivers and Jeremy Smith, while Semi Tadulala keeps his place in the squad.

Wildcats’ 19-man squad: Murphy, Korkidas, Rinaldi, King, Henderson, Lee, Tony, Smith, P Johnson, Dean, Mariano, Veivers, Higgins, Wildie, Hyde, Griffin, G Johnson, Amor, Tadulala.

Wigan’s 19-man squad: Tomkins, Carmont, Richards, Deacon, Fielden, McIlorum, Coley, Hansen, Tomkins, O’Loughlin, Lima, Finch, Mossop, Farrell, Tuson, Marsh, Charnley, Hock, Cross.
