WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats have welcomed back six first-team regulars into the 19-man squad for Friday’s Carnegie Challenge Cup fourth round tie at Leeds Rhinos.
Head coach Richard Agar made big changes to his squad for Monday’s Super League defeat at Wigan Warriors - Wakefield’s second game in four days - with the cup clash at Headingley Carnegie firmly in mind.
And it’s back to a near full-strength squad for the trip to face the Rhinos, with the exception of the injured Steve Southern (calf) and former Rhino Ali Lauitiiti (hamstring).
Vice-captain Danny Kirmond, Dean Collis and Richard Mathers have all returned from injury, while Ben Cockayne, Tim Smith and Andy Raleigh come back into the squad after being rested for Monday’s game at the DW Stadium. Matt James also gets a rare inclusion in the squad.
Leeds will welcome back Danny McGuire from injury but former Wildcat Richard Moore is amongst those missing out through injury for Brian McDermott’s side.
Kallum Watkins, Jamie Jones-Buchanan and Weller Hauraki are the other injured names for Leeds while Brad Singleton serves a one-match suspension.
Wildcats 19-man squad: Mathers, Fox, Collis, Mellars, Cockayne, John, Wood, Wilkes, Ellis, Raleigh, Washbrook, Aiton, Kirmond, Smith, Trout, James, Walshaw, Sykes.
Rhinos 19-man squad: Webb, Jones-Bishop, Hardaker, Hall, McGuire, Burrow, Leuluai, McShane, Peacock, Ablett, Sinfield, Smith, Delaney, Bailey, Kirke, Clarkson, Griffin, Hood, Ward.
