FORMER Wakefield Wildcat Dale Ferguson is set to miss out on a return to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium with Huddersfield Giants next month after being sidelined for four weeks through injury.

The 23-year-old, who spent four years in the Merrie City, suffered a knee injury in the Giants’ Super League loss to Warrington Wolves at the weekend.

Huddersfield head coach Nathan Brown has revealed the extent of the injury and says the back-row will need four weeks to recover - meaning he’s unlikely to get a run-out when the Giants visit Wakefield in Super League on Sunday, March 11.

Tommy Lee could be amongst the former Wakefield players on show in the West Yorkshire derby, however.

The hooker, who spent a year in the red, white and blue, this week submitted an early guilty plea to a high tackle on Warrington’s Lee Briers.

He’s been handed a two-match ban by the RFL but his return will be when Huddersfield make the short trip to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
