Wakefield Hockey Club’s U16 girls won all their three group games on Sunday to become champions of the North and reach the finals the National Cup.
In front of a home crowd at College Grove, they beat Chester 3-0, with Abi Rawlings scoring twice.
Wakefield defeated Leek 3-0 after Sally Patton opened the scoring with a deft flick. Poppy McDermott and Ash Madden were also on target.
Wakefield ran out 4-1 winners in their final game against Lancaster after scoring two goals in the first five minutes including a strike from captain Claire Berry.
Goalkeeper Jess Walsh made excellent saves.
They sealed victory with a sweet deflection into the roof of the net by Tilly Morgan.
Wakefield have now qualified for the national finals for the eighth consecutive year.
Wakefield U12 girls A team were crowned Yorkshire League Champions.
They lifted the championship in style at the final tournament of the season by winning all their games without conceding a goal.
They beat an improving Ben Rhydding side 2-0.
Katie Pitchford intercepted a Ben Rhydding free hit and finished well and Amy Scott clipped a lovely shot from the top of the D and it went in off a post.
Lucy Brereton constantly troubled Ben Rhydding’s defence.
Wakefield beat Driffield 1-0, withScott driving into the D and scoring the only goal.
They defeated Wakefield B 1-0, with Alice Clibbens scoring an excellent switch from a short corner.
Ever reliable Ebony Hempsell was in outstanding form.
Scott was again on target as Wakefield beat Thirsk 1-0.
Alanis Milner-Moore found more space than in previous games and one of her runs led to the goal.
Defensive trio Teaghan Murphy, Olivia Gibson and Clibbens were in top form.
The season then came down to what was in effect a final with Wakefield needing to avoid defeat against York who required a victory to pip them.
Pitchford finished well to put Wakefield ahead and Clibbens fired home late on to seal a 2-0- win.
Next up for the Wakefield U12 team is the England Hockey Cup.
