Ossett Town U16s Lions kicked off their league campaign in style with a skilful and mature performance at the 4G Voice and Data Stadium, defeating Farsley Celtic 3-0.

Town were quickest to settle but the first half was a competitive affair and Ossett went in at the break with a 1-0 lead courtesy of a predator’s goal from Adam Berry.

The second half saw Ossett play some flowing passing football and a volleyed finish by Joseph Smith, followed by a length of the field passing move headed home by Elis Longstaff, gave them reward for their superiority.

Evans, Hewitt, Conyers, Clark and Senior were all outstanding. Connor Ryan was flawless in goal but he was just pipped to the Park-House man of the match award by Joe Smith.
