Junior Football: Woodwork and goalkeeper deny Ossett Albion U13s

Unlucky Ossett Albion U13s were pegged back by Queensbury in a 5-3 Huddersfield Division 1 thriller.

Aided by a strong wind Albion started brightly and took a 3-1 lead thanks to a 30-yard free-kick from the industrious Ben Clarke, an equally impressive 20-yarder from Tommy Wood and a trademark mazy run and strike from Luke McGrath.

Albion would have been out of sight at the interval but twice struck the woodwork and were denied by several fine saves from the visiting goalkeeper.

In the second-half, and facing the elements, Albion were under constant pressure which eventually told.

To their credit Albion fought to the end with Thomas Mee and Elliot Whitley particularly impressive but in the end it was the first-half display of the Queensbury goalkeeper that won the day.
