FLANKER James Stewart has revealed that the Sandal players are fully committed to achieving promotion from National 3 North this season.

Sandal’s eight-game unbeaten run and 100 per-cent home record has put them third in the table and in the promotion mix this season.

Despite having a target to finish in the top four this season, Jim Kilfoyle’s men are desperate to better that and play National 2 rugby next season according to Stewart, who said: “We are all setting our sights on promotion and we are definitely not shying away from it.”

Kilfoyle added: “You finish where you deserve in this division and if we get into the top two then we will have earned it.”

Sandal’s next challenge comes today, Saturday, with a trip to West Hartlepool.

Joe Allott and Mark Pease are unavailable so Dave Martin and Alex Orr replace them in the match day squad.

Sean Maguire replaces James Bristow who suffered a hamstring injury in last week’s 20-11 win over Rossendale.

Dan McCormack will be on the bench after recovering from a broken finger.
