OSSETT all-rounder Richard Pyrah has continued his good form for Yorkshire in the first day of their LV County Championship clash against Nottinghamshire in Leeds.

Pyrah has taken 2-30, the first wicket coming from his first ball, as the County Champions limped to 100-6 at lunch a sunny Headingley.

The former Ossett High School pupil enjoyed career-best figures of 3-70 in the first innings of Yorkshire’s defeat against Durham over the weekend and also hit a superb 87 in the second innings.

He hit the ground running this morning as the White Rose county bounced back from their Durham defeat in impressive style.

Ryan Sidebottom leads the bowling figures with 3-15 - he was also on for a hat-trick at one point - and five maiden overs from nine in the morning session.

Hemsworth spinner David Wainwright has also been included in the squad and currently has figures of 0-14.
