The weekly 5k runs are held in Pontefract Park, Thornes Park, National Trust Nostell and Frickley Country Park as part of a global effort to encourage enthusiasm for running.

But all UK runs have now been called off until "at least the end of April", organisers have said, with suspensions likely to continue beyond this.

Global chief operating officer Tom Williams said: "Today’s update is to notify you that all parkrun events will now continue to be suspended until at least the end of April.
