The new Wakefield team took on Farnley Falcons at the Hawks’ new base at Sandal RUFC, on Standbridge Lane on Saturday.

The game attracted a crowd of more than 300 people and although the hosts lost 24-16 there were plenty of positives to build on.

Jamie Bell scored Hawks’ first try and Nigel Dangare was man of the match.
