Challenge Cup last 16 sees quartet of all-Yorkshire ties

Sheffield Eagles welcome 2017 winners Hull FC and in a fourth all-Yorkshire tie, Hull KR - who needed a last-minute try to see off Championship Leigh Centurions yesterday - make the journey to Leeds Rhinos.

League 1 Newcastle Thunder, who stunned Dewsbury Rams to reach the last 16, have a mouth-watering home tie with Toronto Wolfpack who knocked out Huddersfield Giants last week.

The other remaining lower league side, Championship Widnes Vikings, host Catalans Dragons while last year’s beaten finalists St Helens head to Salford Red Devils in a repeat of the 2019 Grand Final.

Lastly, holders Warrington Wolves begin the defence of their trophy with a trip to Wigan Warrriors, who currently sit joint-top of Super League.

The draw was originally scheduled for New York but was moved to RFL headquarters in Salford due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The sixth round is due to take place over the weekend of April 4/5 and, theoretically, that could still happen.

Super Leaue and the RFL today decided to suspend rugby league at all levels until April 3 due to the pandemic.

That, of course, could be extended depending on what happens over the intervening three weeks.

The Challenge Cup final has been brought forward to July 18 this year.
