Dewsbury Rams appoint former Wakefield Wildcat Paul Broadbent as head coach

DEWSBURY Rams have appointed Paul Broadbent as head coach until the end of the season.

Broadbent, former assistant coach at Wakefield Wildcats, will succeed Warren Jowitt, who left his position yesterday.

The Challenge Cup winner will remain in charge until the end of the Rams’ Co-operative Championship campaign. Dewsbury will still take applications for the permanent job, beyond the end of this season, from Monday.

The 44-year-old’s first game in charge will be against Batley Bulldogs at the Tetleys Stadium on Sunday (kick-off 3pm).

It’ll see him pit his wits against John Kear, who he played under when winning the cup with Sheffield Eagles and who he assisted at Wakefield until the end of last season.
