Million pound try hero Moore unsure of future

Hooker Scott Moore has revealed that he is unsure where he will be playing next year after defying doctor’s orders over a ruptured bicep to do his bit to help Wakefield Wildcats to stay in Super League.

The player who ended the season loaned out by Castleford Tigers scored the winning try against Bradford in the “million pound game”, thereby securing the Wildcats’ Super League survival.

But it was a game he looked destined to miss after being ruled out for the rest of the season with a bicep injury that was expected to keep him out of action for three months after colliding with a team-mate in training in August.

Moore’s amazing comeback, however, earned him a place on the bench and he came on to make a major impact in what could be his last game for Wakefield as he is now set to return to parent club Castleford at the start of pre-season.

The 27-year-old still has a year left to run on his contract with the Tigers, but faces competition for a hooker spot with Adam Milner and Paul McShane, who joined Cas from Wakefield midway through the season just gone.

He said: “I went against the medical advice and I thought I should have a dig for my mates and the boys and it turned out well.

“The arm feels good and I went and produced a try, happy days.

“I’m not sure what I’m doing next year, I’ll see what happens over the break.

“As far as I’m aware I’m going back (to Castleford) for pre-season.”
