The 18-year-old, who is a product of the Stanningley amateur club which also developed Leeds’ Jamie Peacock and Jamie Jones-Buchanan, has been named in coach Brian McDermott’s initial 19-man squad for the first time.

Liam Sutcliffe, Jimmy Keinhorst, Josh Walters, Andy Yates and Robbie Mulhern are all in line for a recall, but Joel Moon (suspended), Zak Hardaker (ankle), Brett Delaney (hamstring) and Mitch Achurch (wrist) drop out from the team which lost to Wigan Warriors last weekend.

Jamie Jones-Buchanan (hamstring) is a fitness doubt and Kylie Leuluai and Tom Briscoe remain on the casualty list after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Leuluai hopes to be available for next Thursday’s visit of Castleford Tigers and Briscoe is around three weeks away from a return to action.

Wakefield could also be much-changed from the team beaten by Castleford at the Magic Weekend.

New signing from Hull Stuart Howarth is set to feature and Craig Hall, Chris Annakin, Joe Arundel and Ben Kavanagh could return, with Scott Anderson (concussion), Reece Lyne (hamstring) and Dean Collis dropping out.
