Wakefield Wildcats hit with suspended fine for crowd trouble against derby foes Castleford Tigers

WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats have received a suspended £1,000 fine for crowd trouble at this year’s Super League clash against Castleford Tigers at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

The match, which took place on Friday, April 6 and saw Tigers win 34-16, saw trouble flare in the north stand of Wakefield’s home ground between rival supporters.

An independent Operational Rules Tribunal found the club guilty of misconduct and hit them with a £1,000 fine, suspended until the end of 2013, after the club was deemed to be in breach of Rugby Football League (RFL) Operational Rules for the way it handled the disturbances.

Wildcats have indicated to the RFL that they won’t be appealing the decision.
