The 23 year-old will join Rams on a one-year deal and is Rams’ head coach Glenn Morrison’s first new signing for 2015.

“I’m really delighted to be joining the Rams,” said Wildie.

“I’ve heard great things about the club from Kieran Hyde and the other ex-Wakefield lads here.

“It’s hopefully an opportunity for me to play regularly, and with the new structure in place I know there’s the prospect of playing against some top-level teams.

“I’m very excited about coming to Dewsbury and look forward to performing to my potential.”

Morrison said: “Matty is a great signing for the club and I’m very happy we’ve been able to bring him here.

“He has great hands, a very good turn of pace and could potentially make a fantastic half-back partner for Anthony Thackeray in 2015.

“He really adds to our options at hooker and half-back and I am confident that he is a player who can take us forward next season, as we prepare to face a new, tougher challenge.”

Wildie was unveiled to Squadbuilder members at an exclusive event at the Tetley’s Stadium on Tuesday night.
