Young Wildcats kick-off Rugby League 9s campaign in impressive fashion

WAKEFIELD Wildcats opened their 2012 Rugby League 9s campaign with two wins and a draw from their opening round of matches at Hull KR's Craven Park on Tuesday night.

Wildcats are playing in the Eastern Division of the competition and took on hosts Hull KR, Hull FC and Castleford Tigers in East Yorkshire.

Coach Glenn Morrison took a young looking Wakefield squad across the M62 and they took a while to get going as Rovers inflicted a 14-10 defeat on Morrison's young charges in their opening matches.
