Wildcats are playing in the Eastern Division of the competition and took on hosts Hull KR, Hull FC and Castleford Tigers in East Yorkshire.

Coach Glenn Morrison took a young looking Wakefield squad across the M62 and they took a while to get going as Rovers inflicted a 14-10 defeat on Morrison's young charges in their opening matches.

Things got better in the second match against the Black and Whites as Wakefield chalked up a 16-6 victory to record their first win in this season's competition.
