Agar names strong-looking Wakefield Wildcats squad for Leeds Rhinos clash

HEAD coach Richard Agar has named a strong Wakefield Wildcats squad for the Heatshot Festive Challenge clash at Leeds Rhinos on Boxing Day (kick-off 11.30am).

Agar has named a 20-man squad, 14 being close season signings, for the short trip to Headingley Carnegie for Wakefield’s first trial game ahead of Super League XVII.

It’ll be the first chance for Wakefield fans to see their new-look squad in action, with new arrivals such as Richard Mathers, Ben Cockayne, Isaac John and Tim Smith all included.

Champions Leeds will also field a strong-looking side, with former Wakefield men Richard Moore, Jay Pitts and Darrell Griffin amongst Brian McDermott’s squad.

Wildcats squad: Kyle Amor, Ben Cockayne, Dean Collis, Richard Mathers, Issac John, Andy Ellis, Tim Smith, Oliver Wilkes, Andy Raleigh, Steve Southern, Kyle Wood, Paul Johnson, Kyle Trout, Frankie Mariano, Matt Wildie, Dale Morton, Danny Kirmond, Danny Washbrook and Matt James.

Rhinos squad: Lee Smith, Jimmy Watson, Kallum Watkins, Zak Hardaker, Jamel Chisholm, Stevie Ward, Rob Burrow, Darrell Griffin, Paul McShane, Ian Kirke, Jay Pitts, Weller Hauraki, Chris Clarkson, Liam Hood, Richard Moore, Brad Singleton, Luke Briscoe.
