A trio of young Wakefield Trinity Wildcats players are destined for future England duties according to head coach Richard Agar.
There were no Wakefield players called up when Steve McNamara named his England Elite and Knights squads last week and Agar believes that the club must aspire to change that.
He said: “I think that has got to be a goal of ours over the next 12 months, to get players, if not in the senior squad, then certainly in the Knights.
“We feel that we have got two or three players that, given the right opportunities this year, can potentially throw themselves into the mix.
“In 12 months time I would like to think that Kyle Wood might be a player with a full season of Super League under his belt and he has the ability and potential to push [for a place].
“For Kyle Trout and Lucas Walshaw its very early days but they certainly have the physical attributes.”
