FORMER Wakefield Trinity Wildcats forward Mark Applegarth has been reunited with ex-Wildcats coach John Kear after signing for Co-operative Championship side Batley Bulldogs.

Applegarth, 26, is the latest player to be signed at Mount Pleasant following Kear’s move from Wakefield to Batley last month.

Applegarth, from Newton Hill, played at Stanley Rangers before a three-year spell at Trinity ended in 2007 with a move to York City Knights.

He was released from his contract last year and has spent the last 12 months playing Queensland Cup rugby at Central Queensland Comets.
