FORMER Wakefield Wildcats winger Kevin Penny has signed for Swinton Lions.

Wildcats released the 24-year-old last week and Swinton, who were crowned Co-operative Championship 1 champions last season, have acted quickly to snap him up.

The jet-heeled winger played just six games in the red, white and blue last season after making the move to the Merrie City from Warrington Wolves.

He scored just one try and was loaned out to Widnes Vikings after dropping down the pecking order under Wakefield head coach John Kear.

New Cats head coach Richard Agar decided against keeping Penny and released him along with a number of other players last week.
