WING wizard Peter Fox will be returning to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in 2012 from Super League rivals Hull KR.

The England international, 26, spent a year in the red, white and blue in 2007 and returns to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium on a three-year deal following a successful four-year stint with the Robins.

Wildcats successfully negotiated the release of Fox from the final year of his contract at Rovers and he will arrive back in the Merrie City after being the top-try scorer at Craven Park for three consecutive years.

The jet-heeled winger, who has been capped six times by England, said: “The Wildcats were my first Super League club back in 2007 and after a memorable season it was a major decision to move to Hull KR.

“It is exciting to make a return to the Wildcats when everything is new: a new ambitious management, new Super League licence, building of a new squad and a new stadium in the pipeline.

“Having topped Rovers try chart in three of my four seasons at Craven Park, I am looking forward to regularly touching down for the Wildcats and adding to my six caps for England. I can’t wait to get back!”

Wildcats chief executive James Elston said: “I am very happy to be able to welcome Foxy back to Wakefield and am pleased that we have captured his signature for the next three seasons.

“He is a very dynamic player who has shown great skill over his career that has deservedly earned him his representative honours. I’m very much looking forward to seeing Peter in action for us and I can’t wait for his first try of many in the Wildcats shirt once again!”

Fox scored a hat-trick in Rovers’ 70-14 thrashing of Wildcats at Craven Park last month but has scored only four tries in 16 appearances so far this season.

Wildcats have also confirmed the release of Chris Dean, who will join Wides Vikings next year.
