COACH Glenn Morrison will lead out a youthful Wakefield Trinity Wildcats side when they kick-off their Rugby League 9s challenge tonight, Tuesday.

The competition begins this week at Craven Park where Trinity will go head-to-head with Hull FC, Hull KR and Castleford Tigers.

Three further rounds will see Wakefield going up against other East Division opponents Featherstone Rovers, Bradford Bulls, Huddersfield Giants and Leeds Rhinos.

Morrison said: “We are taking quite a strong squad to Hull, we have a few experienced players and a few of the under 20s that have been performing well so I am happy with the squad.

“We had a training run last night to prepare for tonight and hopefully we get a couple of wins this evening.”

Teams in the West Division are holders Warrington Wolves, Cumbria, Salford City Reds, St Helens, London Broncos, Widnes Vikings and Co-operative Championship One-bound side Gloucestershire All Golds.

The tournament features four weekly rounds on Tuesday evenings of festival-style fixtures that culminate in the 2012 Grand Final where eight teams will compete at Headingley Carnegie Stadium on Tuesday, June 26.

Wildcats nines squad: Jordan Grayston, Josh Hardcastle, Lucas Walshaw, Liam Kay, Sam Fletcher, Ryan Wright, Matty Wildie, Dale Morton, James Davey, Tom Lillycrop, Motu Tony, Jamie Birstall, Kieran Hyde.
