WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats hooker Paul Aiton will be out for between six to eight weeks with a broken jaw after he was mugged while on holiday in Spain.

Aiton, who has been the stand-out performer in Wildcats’ Stobart Super League XVII campaign, was assaulted and robbed of a bag during a three-day break last week.

Wildcats head coach Richard Agar said: “He was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

The 29-year-old Papua New Guinea international was knocked down and robbed of a bag containing a mobile phone, sunglasses and wallet on his first day in Spain.

An x-ray revealed a break and Aiton has had an operation to insert a plate in his jaw but Agar “hopes to get him back for the last couple of games” of the season

Any Ellis has been recalled from his loan at Featherstone Rovers and will play against Huddersfield Giants on Sunday.
