Wakefield Wildcats go indoors to beat weather and keep Super League preparations ticking over

WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats have not let the snow and frost hamper their preparations for Super League XVIII.

Heavy snowfall and freezing conditions over the last week put paid to any outdoor field sessions for Richard Agar and his men with less than a fortnight to go before the big kick-off.

Wakefield have made good use of the area’s top indoor facilties, however, with Wakefield Football Centre, based off Denby Dale Road in Thornes, hosting the squad for a session on Wednesday morning.

Wildcats have also used the 3G surface at the Kirkstall Training Complex in Leeds to keep their training schedules ticking over this week, ahead of Sunday’s final trial game at Doncaster.

This week’s training schedule for the Wildcats squad is a far cry from the warm-weather training camp Richard Agar took his men on in Portugal over a fortnight ago.
