Injuries have forced Wakefield Wildcats head coach Richard Agar to make a number of changes to his 19-man squad for Sunday’s clash with Wigan Warriors at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.
Ali Lauitiiti (foot), Paul Aiton (jaw and quad) and Tim Smith have all been ruled out of the match against the Super League leaders after suffering injuries in last weekend’s defeat to Castleford Tigers.
Paul Sykes has returned to training this week but the stand-off is not yet ready for a return to competitive action, with a return in the next round against Salford City Reds more likely.
The news has led to Agar recalling Frankie Mariano from his loan spell with Featherstone Rovers, while Kyle Wood, Oliver Wilkes, Vince Mellars, Matty Wildie and Lucas Walshaw have all been added to the squad.
Wigan captain Sean O’Loughlin misses out through a knee injury, while Blake Green and Gil Dudson remain sidelined with ankle and neck problems respectively.
Greg Burke and Scott Taylor are both included in Shaun Wane’s squad for the trip to West Yorkshire.
Wildcats 19-man squad: Mathers, Fox, Collis, L Smith, Cockayne, Poore, Raleigh, Kirmond, Washbrook, Wood, Amor, Wilkes, Mariano, Mellars, Lyne, Wildie, Walshaw, Annakin, Tautai.
