Wakefield Trinity Wildcats had to settle for a single consolation try from Lucas Walshaw as they suffered a 36-4 home loss to Warrington Wolves in the First Utility Super League.

The visitors to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium were on the scoreboard first thanks to Stefan Ratchford’s try.

Ben Currie ran in a couple of quick-fire tries and Gene Ormsby latched onto Chris Bridge’s pass to go over.

Bridge added to Wakefield’s misery with a try after the break but the hosts finally got off the mark after 54 minutes thanks to Walshaw’s touch-down.

However, Wolves extended their advantage in the latter stages and former Wildcat Ryan Atkins crossed before Richie Myler added his name to the scoresheet.
