WAKEFIELD Wildcats starlets Danny Cowling and Kyle Trout will make the step up to the first team on a full-time basis in 2012 after signing one-year professional contracts with the Super League club.

Both young players have impressed in the red, white and blue after progressing through the club’s Academy ranks and have been rewarded with new deals at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

Head of Youth Performance Tony Drury said: “Both these players have worked extremely hard to get this contract and thoroughly deserve the opportunity.”

“I have every confidence in both these players playing regular first team rugby. This is another example of successful players coming through the youth system here and I wish them every success for the future.”

Cowling, a 19-year-old centre, and Trout, a 20-year-old prop or loose forward, have both shone in the Wildcats’ youth set-up and will be looking to make the grade at first team level next season.
