Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ Chris Annakin is facing eight to ten weeks on the sidelines due to an ankle injury.

Annakin, 24, who has made one First Utility Super League appearance so far this season, could be set to miss local derbies against Huddersfield Giants and Leeds Rhinos, as well as the busy Easter period.

Trinity head coach James Webster said: “Unfortunately Chris has injured his ankle in training.

“We are lucky in that he does not require surgery but unfortunately he is looking at eight weeks on the sidelines.”
