WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats are in advanced talks about bringing an “exciting” player to the Rapid Solicitors Stadium within the next fortnight.
The Super League side added Jarrad Hickey and Gareth Moore to their squad in the last week but head coach John Kear isn’t stopping there.
Kear is keeping his cards close to his chest over the potential arrival, but has confirmed he could be one of two new signings at Belle Vue.
“I would say within the next fortnight (when a deal could be done),” said Kear.
“I think when you realise who it is and you know the situation he’s been in you’ll understand why it’s a fortnight and it’ll be good and exciting.”
He continued: “I hope there will be one or two others, not many, but one or two others to improve the quality.
“We’ve said all along we’ll get better as the season goes along. We’ll get better with the coaching process but also with the recruitment process and that’s what we’re heading towards.”
Kear has also confirmed that he hopes to have Australian prop Jarrad Hickey, who has signed and is awaiting a visa, available at the start of May.
Hickey could be available for selection for the Carnegie Challenge Cup fourth round clash at Doncaster on Sunday, May 8.
