SANDAL RUFC first team will kick-off their new campaign in National League 3 North with two home games.
The season gets under way on Saturday, September 3 with a the visit of West Hartlepool - last season’s champions of North One East, the league Sandal were promoted from two seasons ago.
Jim Kilfoyle’s men will be at home again seven days later when Darlington Mowden Park travel to Milnthorpe Green before Sandal face their first away game at Rossendale on Saturday, September 17.
Sandal will need to be wary of the threat posed by West Hartlepool, who have bounced straight back to National 3 having suffered relegation in the same year Sandal celebrated promotion.
The Wearside team, who played in the top English leagues during the 1990s, proved far too strong for their opponents in North One East last year and won 23 of their 26 games.
Other newcomers in the league this year will be Altrincham Kersal and Burnage, champions and runners-up in North 1 West last season, and Morley, who were relegated from National 2 North.
Manchester also suffered the drop from National 2 North but have been level transferred to the National 3 Midlands league.
