Seven-goal Corinthians U12s boost survival hopes

Tingley Athletic Corinthians Under-12s kept alive their hopes of beating relegation as a fine team display brought a 7-2 success at Brighouse.

Lowrie, Williams, Armitage and Asquith defended well and Johnson went close before they had a couple of goals disallowed.

Chappell notched the first while Sargent scored from a Lowrie corner and then fired home from an acute angle to make it 3-0. Chappell set up Penny-Larter to score before Brighouse struck either side of half time.

Tingley responded well and Stead pass put Cockerham clear to fire home before Simpson made it 6-2 and Cockerham set up Lister to score the seventh.

Munns went close with a dipping strike as did Hoult with a thunderous drive. Tingley must reproduce this form in their final two games to avoid relegation.
