Sharlston edge Upton in cup semi-final

SHARLSTON Rovers booked their place in the Unison Presidents Cup final with a 28-10 win at Upton on Saturday.

The semi-final remained in the balance at the break with the sides locked at 6-6 but Rovers staged a second-half rally to see-off their Yorkshire League Division One opponents.

Tom Wandless ran in a brace for the visitors, Adam Saynor, Danny Glassell and Sean Emblem also crossed and Ian Jackson added four goals to Rovers’ tally.

Rovers will face Pennine Premier Division rivals Queens in the ACE Insurance BARLA National Cup final on June 2 after the Leeds club enjoyed an 18-0 success at National Conference Premier side Siddal in the semi-finals on Saturday.
