Sharlston win to set up title decider with Queens

THE race for the Pennine League Premier Division title is likely hinge on the result of Sharlston Rovers’ crucial home game against fellow title chasers Queens next Wednesday.

The penultimate game of the season pits the rivals together with only points difference separating the two teams at the top of the table.

Rovers will go into the game on the back of a comfortable 32-12 win over Drighlington last night, Tuesday.

Sharlston scored 16 points in each half thanks to tries from Gareth Davies (2), Ryan Jackson (2), Lee Lingard, Craige Miles, Derrell Olpherts and Adam Saynor.

Goals were kicked by Tommy Malyan (3), Michael Sanderson (2), Lingard and Miles.

The clash with Queens on Wednesday, May 18 kicks-off at 7.30pm.
