STANLEY Rangers will face a trip to either Castleford Lock Lane or Halton Simms Cross in the second round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
The second round draw for the prestigious competition took place at the Rugby Football League’s Red Hall base today.
And National Conference League (NCL) side Rangers have been handed an away tie as a reward for beating Shaw Cross Sharks 21-20 in an entertaining first round match earlier this month.
Lock Lane, who play in Division 2 of the NCL and Simms Cross, who play in the North West Counties Premier Division, saw their first round match postponed on Saturday.
Another cup win for Stanley would put them into the third round, where clubs from the Co-operative Championship enter the competition.
Second round ties will take place on the weekend of February 5 and 6.
