UNDEFEATED Merrie City boxing ace Andy Townend has penned in Friday, June 8 for his next professional fight at Doncaster Dome.

The 22-year-old has won both of his bouts since turning pro last year and is eager for a return to the ring to make it three wins from three.

His opponent has yet to be named but the former White Rose Boxing Club member will be confident of success thanks to his rapid start as a lightweight.

He needed less than 12 minutes to defeat Bulgarian opponent Evgeni Geshev by technical knockout last time out in March.

And this week Townend, who lives in Portobello, is upping his training with trainer Stefy Bull at the Empress Gym in Mexborough in preparation for the fight.

Townend’s fight will be one of a number of mouthwatering contests on show at the Dome. There will be six international contests and two title fights.

Tickets can be bought now by calling 07807 427954.
