WAKEFIELD Harrier Charlene Thomas has been included in the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team to compete at the Spar European Team Championships in Stockholm this month.
Thomas will run in the 1500m event at the championships, which take place on June 18-19.
The 29-year-old has been in good form domestically ahead of the trip to Sweden and will be looking to continue her fast times on the European stage.
Thomas ran a time of 4 mins 20.61 secs to win the 1500m at the Loughborough International meeting last month and also secured first place finishes in the 1500m and 800m events at the Yorkshire County Championships in Cudworth.
Other performances this year included a seventh-placed finish in the 3000m event at the Aviva Grand Prix in Birmingham and a fifth-placed finish in the Sparkassen Cup in Stuttgart, Germany.
UKA Head coach Charles Van Commenee said: “I am pleased to be able to name a strong team with a number of athletes having posted promising early season performances so far.
“The Aviva GB&NI team is looking forward to competing against nations such as Russia, France and Germany and vying for the top positions in Stockholm.”
