Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Huddersfield Giants have agreed a deal for prop Daniel Smith, with he 22-year-old joining the Giants immediately on a four-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
As part of the deal, Giants prop forward Anthony Mullally will join the Wildcats for the remainder of the 2015 season.
He will be available for selection for the local derby against Castleford Tigers on Sunday.
Wildcats chairman Michael Carter said: “Anthony will give us some real presence in our middles.
“We are trying to provide real competition for places across our whole squad and Anthony is a welcome addition to this.
“I would also like to thank Daniel for his services to the club.
Daniel is a likable young man and has been a credit whilst he has been here.
I’d like to wish him all the very best for the future. I’d also like to thank Richard Thewlis and the Huddersfield club for their assistance in putting this deal together.”
