A Chris Riley try on the final hooter was the only highlight for Wakefield Trinity Wildcats as they suffered a 40-4 home loss to Catalans Dragons.

Trinity remain bottom of the Super League table having gone down to their sixth successive defeat in a disappointing display at the Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

Tries from Benjamin Garcia, Willie Tonga, Ben Pomeroy and Elliott Whitehead, converted by Scott Dureau who also added a penalty, gave Dragons a 26-0 half-time lead.

A 12-minute hat-trick from Damien Cardace put the visitors out of sight before Riley crossed for a consolation.
