WAKEFIELD Trinity Wildcats and Castleford Tigers will go head-to-head in a trial game that will be anything but ‘friendly’ on Sunday (kick-off 3.30pm).

The Super League duo will continue their preparations for the new season, which kicks-off on Friday, February 3, with a tasty local derby clash at Wakefield’s Rapid Solicitors Stadium.

Both sides are expected to field strong sides as the season draws closer and a bumper crowd, for a friendly clash, is set to whet the appetite for the start of Super League XVII.

Featherstone Rovers will face a tough test at Leeds Rhinos for Rob Burrows’s testimonial match at Headingley Carnegie tonight (kick-off 8pm).

Co-operative Championship Rovers have Sharlston Rovers try-king Gareth Davies on trial but he won’t feature at Headingley, instead getting his chance with Rovers’ trial game against Hull FC next Thursday.

Doncaster also continue their pre-season preparations with a home clash against Sheffield Eagles on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).
