Wakefield Trinity Wildcats boss James Webster admitted that his team were no match for their opponents as Trinity ended their Super League campaign with a disappointing 42-18 loss at home to Hull KR.
The Robins were already 36-0 up before Wildcats finally got onto the scoreboard in the second half but tries from Dean Collis, Chris Riley and Andy Raleigh, in his final game before retirement, were no more than consolations.
Webster said: “We had poor preparation for the game with a lot of people out and we scratched around to try and get a team together.
“I think the suspension [of Taulima Tautai] hurt us as well, but we don’t have any excuses. We got out there and got beaten by a better team.
“We just didn’t turn up with the right mental attitude to play a tough sport.”
