Heath Hall provided a colourful backdrop for an inaugural late-night charity music event.
Around 500 people attended the Jazz by Moonlight fundraiser, which was headlined by saxophonist Snake Davis, in the hall’s grounds in Heath on Saturday.
It was organised by Warmfield Cum Heath Community Fundraising Group to raise money for Wakefield Hospice.
And as part of our You Are The Editor week, we were sent these pictures by Colin Daley and lots of comments praising the event from our readers.
Fundraising group member Helen Basray said: “The group was set up in August last year with the aim of bringing the community together for social events and to raise funds for local charities.
“This particular event was to raise funds for Wakefield Hospice and the parish of Warmfield Cum Heath.
“This was a challenging task for the group to organise this concert our first major event and the response has been incredible.
“We had a marquee with Berties catering for 89 guests, a bar, and food sales.
“The majority of people brought picnics to share with friends and family.
“All age groups enjoyed the event including children. We have so many people to thank including Vivienne and Tony Hodges of Heath Hall, our members who worked so hard, all the volunteers on the night and all the companies who supplied time and equipment without charge.”
