‘The Cat That Slept For A Thousand Years’ will be in Wakefield until Sunday, April 12.

The free interactive exhibit sees the cat snore, purr, twitch its ear and swish its tail when visitors interact with it.

Originally commissioned by Manchester Museum, the interactive cat is visiting Wakefield Exchange where visitors can show their affection by giving it a stroke or a cuddle.

Brought to life by Air Giants’ pioneering robotic technology, the cat invites visitors to immerse themselves in its unique movements.

Coun Hannah Appleyard, Wakefield Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport, said: “We’re encouraging visitors of all ages to come along and get up close to the cat, get to know it better, give it a stroke or just peacefully sit and watch.

"It promises to be an unforgettable experience.”

The exhibit is complemented by a curated display of feline-themed artifacts from the museum’s collection.
