Hit show back

A MUST-SEE show for musical lovers is back in Wakefield with a brand new production for 2011.

Theatre Royal Wakefield welcomes the return of critically acclaimed musical show Beyond the Barricade after overwhelming public demand.

The show has been recreating original West End and Broadway hit songs for the entertainment of audiences across the UK and Europe for more than ten years.

A cast of former principal performers will present the two hour show, fresh from the Les Miserables 25th anniversary concert held at the 02 Arena in London in October.

The audiences will be treated to authentic renditions of favourite numbers from musicals including The Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Blood Brothers, Mamma Mia, and Miss Saigon.

The production will end on a high note with the cast doing what they do best – a grand finale from Les Miserables.

The stars of the show are Andy Reiss, David Fawcett, Katie Leeming and Becci Morrell. Andy and David created Beyond the Barricade after appearing in the Manchester and London casts of Les Miserables where David starred as Jean Valjean and Andy played various characters including Enjolras – and remains the show’s only resident director to perform at the same time.
