Pontefract and Sandal Castle in Wakefield to host summer events
Wakefield Council has launched it’s 2014 castles programme which includes The Proms in the castles, and other free events.
The events are organised in association with the Friends of Sandal Castle, Friends of Pontefract Castle and The Pontefract Heritage Group.

Hide AdAfter the success of last year’s events, where more than 1,200 tickets were sold for the Proms alone, visitors are encouraged to buy tickets early.
There is also a discount for buying in advance.
Tickets can be bought from Pontefract and Sandal castles, Pontefract Museum, the Visitor Information Centre in Wakefield, and new for this year, online, by going to: www.wakefield.gov.uk\castleevents

Picnic in the Castle
In partnership with Pontefract Heritage Group
Bring your picnic and relax and enjoy pop classics from the 60s to the present day. Plus birds of prey, craft activities, bouncy castle and more.
