Business: Wakefield skincare brand announces it will close

A Wakefield skincare brand has announced that it will close.

Wild and Wood Skincare, which has a store in Pontefract, made the announcement on its Facebook page yesterday (Monday).

The post said the business will close in a few months, with a final closing date yet to be announced.

The post said: “We never thought we’d be writing this.

“Wild & Wood was built from friendship, love, late nights, and a shared belief in creating something meaningful.

“What we poured into this brand can’t be measured, and letting it go is incredibly painful.

“After a lot of reflection and some very difficult conversations, we’ve made the decision to close this chapter.

“Not because the love or care was gone, but because sometimes the bravest thing you can do is choose honesty and health over pushing through.

“Thank you to every single person who supported us, trusted our products, and believed in what we were building. You’ll always be part of this story.”

The vegan skincare business was started by Wakefield’s Hollie Sharpin and Lorna Hirst during the lockdown in 2020, and its Pontefract store opened in March 2024.
