These are the Wakefield Burger King stores which have reopened

The popular fast food chain was one of many forced to close its doors as part of the UK-wide lockdown at the end of March.

But they have now confirmed that three branches in Wakefield are among the first in Yorkshire to reopen to customers.

Restaurants will be open for takeaway and delivery only, and the chain have employed a number of new measures to protect staff and customers.

Stringent cleaning measures will be in place, and staff, who will wear additional PPE, have been trained on social distancing measures.

The full menu will not be available, but favourites including the Chicken Royale, Bacon Double Cheeseburger and Whopper will be on offer.

By the end of June, Burger King are working towards re-opening 350 restaurants (68%).

Katie Evans, Marketing Director at Burger King UK comments, “We are so pleased to be able to open more restaurants this week and slowly but surely get back to ‘normal’, ensuring all safety measures are in place.”

These are all the Wakefield restaurants which are currently open to customers:

Wakefield Calder Park - delivery and takeaway at the counter only. Open 11am to 10pm each day.

Wakefield Woolley Edge North Motorway Services - takeaway at the counter only.

Wakefield Woolley Edge South Motorway Services - takeaway at the counter only.

Wakefield Herriot Way, opened June 1.
