Jack's supermarket celebrates its second year in Wakefield - here's how it's helped our communities

Over the last year, charities and organisations directly supporting the Wakefield community have been invited to apply to the Jack’s Supports Scheme to receive some well-deserved funding.

Since the launch of the initiative, 14,021 votes have been cast and 16 local organisations have been supported, including local charities, sports clubs, community centres, women’s institutes, festivals and social clubs. The total donated so far is £5,500, with much more to come!

Jack’s has also addressed the important issue of meal donations, donating a total of 1,215 meals to date to local care homes, schools, and individuals in society whose needs are the

greatest.

Michael Ward, Store Manager of Jack’s Wakefield, said: “Since opening our doors in 2019,we have always wanted to be more than just a supermarket.

"While our main priority is to provide top quality produce at great value prices, the local community has always been important to us.

"We are so proud of everything we have done for the Wakefield community, and will continue to do so in the years to come.”
