Nick Clegg to visit Normanton factory as 175 jobs to be created

The Deputy Prime Minister will visit a Normanton company today after the firm secured £1m in government cash to create 175 jobs.

Nick Clegg will meet workers at Really Useful Products, on Foxbridge Way, after a £1m investment was agreed from the government’s Regional Growth Fund.

The storage box company has also secured almost £6m in private sector investment, and will use the cash to install new machinery and expand the Normanton factory.

Mr Clegg will also visit Leeds-based bed manufacturer Harrison Spinks, which secured more than £2m from the growth fund, along with £4.5m in private investment.

Mr Clegg said: “I am delighted that hundreds of new jobs will be created thanks to the Regional Growth Fund.

“I want 2014 to be another great year for growth in Yorkshire.”
