'Substantial' refurb to temporarily close Airedale Post Office

Airedale Post Office will close temporarily next week for extensive building work

To allow for the work to take place, the branch will close on Wednesday March 31 at 5.30pm and it is envisaged that the work will take approximately two weeks.

The branch is due to re-open on Friday, April 16 at 9am.

The postmaster is investing in the branch to improve what's on offer to customers, including a 'substantial' extention being built and a refit of the building for a convenience store and Post Office.

During the closure, customers can access post offices from:

*The Square Post Office, The Square, Airedale, Castleford, WF10 3JJ

*Churchfield Lane Post Office, 25 Churchfield Lane, Castleford, WF10 4DD

Richard Clark, Post Office Network Provision Lead, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers during the work.

"The safety of our customers is of paramount, therefore, to allow for the building work to take place, it will be necessary for the service to close temporarily.”
